Release of the Psychological First Aid Guide in Chinese

Since its initial release in August 2011, the “Psychological First Aid: Guide for Field Workers” is now available in Chinese. The guide is a joint release of the World Health Organization, War Trauma Foundation and World Vision International, on how to provide basic psychological support for people in the immediate aftermath of traumatic and stressful events.

CCOUC Honorary Clinical Psychologist, Ms. Eliza Cheung, coordinated the Chinese-adaptation and -translation of the PFA guide.  Endorsed by 24 international agencies, the availability of this widely recognized manual for frontline emergency responders and humanitarian workers in Chinese-speaking communities, is a significant milestone towards the provision of effective psychological aid in post-disaster settings, benefiting communities that suffers from the highest number of natural disasters globally.
